REVIEW: The Sin Eater’s Daughter by Melinda Salisbury

When I first started reading The Sin Eater’s Daughter, I wasn’t overly impressed with the characters. Twllya wasn’t particularly a character that I felt like I wanted or needed to know about, and the others didn’t leave much of a lasting impression. It took me until chapter 6 or 7 to really get into it, around when Lief was finally introduced, and then the characters finally peaked my interest!

This book does a great job of setting up the basis of the sequel, and Melinda Salisbury does a good job of explaining the exciting but very complex world. I loved learning about the fairytales and history of the country . That isn’t too say I completely understood everything I read straight away; I was still somewhat lost until the end of the book.

The end of the book! It was brilliant. I couldn’t have dreamed for a better end. There were so many twists and turns and secrets and  questions I wasn’t expecting. The sequel has such an exciting premise – I just really hope that all my questions are answered in the next novel, despite it being written from another character’s perspective. A thoroughly enjoyable read.
