I have absolutely no idea where to start with this review. I read the whole Wings series when I was younger, but decided to re-read because I remembered how much I loved it before. And honestly, I think I adored it even more this time around. My love of the series is pretty much down to the last book alone – the other books received 3 or 4 star ratings, but I had no doubt when rating Destined 5 stars.
Wings does a great job of introducing some intriguing characters, with a storyline that could head in about a million different directions. Combine fairies and a love triangle and you’re pretty much guaranteed I’ll like a book. Spells was a lot less exciting than I’d hoped – of the whole series, I feel like it’s just a filler where not a whole lot happens until the very end. Wild gets a little more fascinating when some new characters are introduced and the ending had my heart racing. Destined picks up straight after a cliff hanger, and you are pretty much thrown straight into the action, which doesn’t slow until the very end of the novel. Not only is this book romantic, clever and heart-warming, it’s also thrilling and filled with many twists and turns.
The previously mentioned love triangle finally becomes a straight line(???) at the end of Destined. Without giving too much away, Laurel ended up with who I wanted. Throughout the series, I just couldn’t pick – David or Tamani. But when Laurel realised she’d known all along, so did I.
Pick these books up if you want to make being a fairy seem as possible as it was when you were young.
